When you place an order on FoodServiceDirect.com, an authorization hold is placed on your card for the total amount of your order. This may look like the funds have been debited from your account already, but the money is still there. The funds for this order have been placed on hold and are unable to be used to make other purchases.
Most holds can last up to 7 business days, but this can vary depending on your banking institution. Once your order ships the hold will be released and the funds will be debited from your account.
For orders containing multiple items, we only charge your card for the items that shipped on that day (plus a portion of shipping costs), and any further charges will only be placed once the other items ship. As a result, you may notice more than one charge from FoodServiceDirect.com on your card, but the total amount will never be more than that on your initial order.
If your order is canceled, the hold will be released. You should see the hold removed from your account within 72 hours, but you should contact your bank immediately if you still see the hold after that.
You may be charged for a special order item prior to the ship date. In these small instances you will be notified via email when your card is being charged.
*For ApplePay and AfterPay orders, these payments will be captured when your order is placed. If your order is cancelled your payments will be refunded.
